Amnesty International
Description: Students bring attention to the violation of basic human rights by governments by writing letters, arranging guest speakers and fundraising.
Eligibility Requirements: Must write 5 urgent action letters and pay minimal dues
Time Commitment: About 30 minutes a week
Procedure for Joining: Attend publicized meetings and pay dues

ASAP (Association of Student Action for Peace)
Description: The purpose of the ASAP is to combat prejudice and promote peace.  We will discuss contemporary issues and brainstorm how to fix them.  The club will take part in community service and fundraise to donate to peace organizations or other trustworthy causes.  Our goal is to bring attention to problems inside and outside our school while trying to improve the world around us.
Eligibility Requirements: 9th - 12th grade students interested in peace and helping the community.
Time Commitment: Attend meetings once every three weeks, participate in fundraisers and other club activities and six hours of community service per school year.

The Craft Master's Guild                                 
Description: Students partake in the design, creation, and marketing of handmade crafts and jewelry. 
Eligibility Requirements: Interest in crafts.  Must participate in craft show at the end of the year.
Time Commitment: Usually once a week to once every other week during I-Block.

Environmental Concerns Club
Description: the environmental club offers the opportunity for PW students to learn about environmental issues in order to make a positive difference at our school and in our community.
Eligibility and Requirements: Strong interest and desire required
Time Commitment: Activities/projects determines time invested

Fly Fishing 
Description: Students learn the basics of fly fishing. The club will increase awareness of the need to conserve and protect our waterways.
Eligibility Requirements: Willingness to have fun, desire to be environmentally friendly and lots of patience!
Time Commitment: When available.

Gay-Straight Alliance
Description: Group that meets to work on issues of safety and equity for gay, transgender and questioning youth.
Eligibility Requirements: None
Time Commitment: After school meetings and occasional activities

Magic the Gathering
Description: Students play and discuss the strategy role playing game Magic the Gathering.
Eligibility and Requirements: None
Time Commitment: Meets once a week after school.
Procedure to joining: Attend meeting.
Sponsor: Mr. Brown

 

S.A.V.E (Support for African Vitality and Education)
Description: The objective of SAVE is to improve the educational opportunities offered to children in Africa.  With quality education and sustainable projects, the African communities will be empowered to improve the quality of life.
Eligibility and Requirements: Members of SAVE will be expected to attend regular meetings and participate in fundraisers and club functions.  Membership is available to PWHS students, staff or community members.
Time Commitment: Monthly meetings.  Officers may meet more frequently.
