Chem Club
Description: A club dedicated to the enthusiastic pursuit of chemistry topics and activities.

DECA
Description: DECA is an association of marketing students developing leadership skills in the areas of marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Students compete at the regional, state and national level.

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America)
Description: FBLA provides innovative leadership and career development programs. Competitive events consist of more then 30 events ranging from computer related to public speaking.

FEA (Future Educators Association)
Description: The Future Educators Association (FEA) program provides opportunities for high school students to explore careers in education.

First Robotics Competition
Description: Students design and build a robot for entry in local and national competitions
Eligibility Requirements: Interests in related fields, commitment to the six week long build season
Time Commitment: Typically the kickoff is the first Saturday in January, and the “build season” ends 6 weeks later. Through the duration of the six week period students often meet daily after school and on weekends to complete the robot for the competition deadline. Additionally, students help develop funding sources prior to and following the competition to help offset the costs of the activity, and prepare for other competitions.

French Club
Description: The purpose of the PW French Club is to offer opportunities to experience French culture through food, music, games and film.
Eligibility Requirements: All students interested in French language and culture

History Club
Description: History fanatics share their enthusiasm through interactive activities with their peers. Topics not included in social studies classes are explored. Groups outings are planned. Capable students help motivate and organize 9th grade social studies students in after school tutoring sessions.

Latin Club
Description: Promotes Latin and engages students in Latin beyond the classroom

LIT (Librarians in Training) Club
Description: Students volunteer in the library for a variety of activities, including shelving books, creating book displays, helping to develop and promote library events, and working on student-initiated projects.
Eligibility Requirements: None
Time Commitment: Club members must volunteer in the library or help out with the club activities for a minimum of one hour per month. The club meets monthly. The actual hours of service are flexible and may be modified to meet the students' schedule.

Medical/Science Careers Club
Description: Students explore medical and science careers by listening to guest speakers & attending after school field trips.
Eligibility Requirements: Must submit club form and be able to participate in half of the club sponsored activities (badminton tournament, blood drive, field trip).
Time Commitment: One I block meeting a month and four after school meetings a year.

Mock Trial
Description: This program provides students with a better understanding of the legal profession and judicial system. Students play the roles of lawyers and witnesses.

National Honor Society
Description: An organization designed to create enthusiasm for scholarship, service and leadership and to develop character
Eligibility Requirements: 11th and 12 graders must meet scholarship, service, leadership and character standards as described in PWHS handbook and NHS website
Time Commitment: Monthly meeting attendance and ongoing community service
Procedure for Joining: 11th and 12th graders meeting the meet academic standard of 3.25 unweighted cumulative GPA are invited to submit an application to the faculty committee

Reading Olympics
Description: Students read at least six books from a list published through the MCIU and participate in a quiz show competition with students from other schools in the country.
