October

  • Senior Assembly: Jostens Representative provides important information about caps/gowns and graduation announcements.
  • Students are also asked to complete diploma cards.  Diploma Cards verify how the student would like his/her name to appear on the actual diploma.

November

  • Students are measured for caps/gowns during I-Block
  • Students can place orders for announcements

April

  • Tryouts with Music Department for performing Alma Mater and National Anthem at Graduation and Senior Awards Assembly
  • All students are eligible to tryout to deliver a commencement speech at graduation.  Finalists will read their speech to a panel of judges and 2 speakers will be chosen based on the content and delivery of their speeches.

May

  • Senior Assembly: The Associate Principal will review the rehearsal schedule, guidelines and expectations, and identify students who still owe obligations (students with outstanding obligations to PWHS will not be eligible to participate in the ceremony).
  • Students must submit signed contracts prior to participating in the ceremony.  Deadlines will be given to students.
  • Graduation Contract

June

  • Senior Picnic takes place prior to graduation.  Students receive their yearbooks at the picnic.
  • Graduation Rehearsal #1 takes place the day before the commencement exercises.  After seniors take their Block 2 Final Exam, they report to the auditorium for the first rehearsal.  Students will receive their caps/gowns (and tickets for indoor ceremony) at this first rehearsal.  ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. The first rehearsal will have students start in the auditorium and march to Colonial Field.
  • Graduation Rehearsal #2 takes place on graduation day.  Seniors report to the auditorium at 7:35am.  The second rehearsal begins in the auditorium and students march to the CES gymnasium to practice for an indoor ceremony (contingency plan due to inclement weather). ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY.
  • Following Rehearsal #2, students will report to the auditorium to watch the senior video.  Following the senior video, there will be a senior breakfast in Cafe West.
