Frequently Asked Questions
  1. Do we need tickets for graduation?  Tickets are only used in the case of inclement weather, which forces us to conduct the ceremony indoors at Colonial Elementary School.
  2. What time should we arrive?  Students must arrive at 5:30pm.  The ceremony begins promptly at 6:30pm.
  3. Is there a limit to the number of guests that can attend?  If the ceremony is held outside on Colonial Field, students can have as many guests as they desire attend.  If the ceremony is held indoors, students receive 4 tickets to give to guests.  Two tickets (designated by color) are for the gymnasium and two tickets are for the auditorium where the ceremony will be broadcast via video. 
  4. If the ceremony is indoors, how can family and friends see the ceremony?  Colonial Instructional Television (CITV) airs a live broadcast of the ceremony when it is both indoors and outside on Colonial Field. 
  5. What about family members with disabilities?  Special parking is available for persons with disabilities.  Additionally, motorized carts driven by security personnel are available to transport guests to seats.  Security will assist disabled guests with seating. 
  6. Approximately how long is the ceremony? In recent years the ceremony has been less than 90 minutes.
  7. What is the attire for the graduates?  See graduation contract.
  8. Are you serious that graduates who do not dress appropriately will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony?  YES
  9. What if a senior [male] shows up for graduation without a collared shirt and tie?  He will NOT be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
  10. What if a senior [male] shows up for graduation with sneakers instead of dress shoes? He will NOT be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
  11. What if a senior shows up for graduation in shorts or jeans? He/she will NOT be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
  12. What if a senior shows up for graduation with accessories added to his/her cap or gown? He/she will NOT be permitted to participate in the ceremony.
  13. What if a senior attempts to bring a prop (beach ball, sunglasses, etc.) out to the field?  He/she will be escorted from the line-up and will not be permitted to participate.
