Post Prom 2009

The 6th Annual PWHS Post-Prom Party will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009!

Hello Colonial Parents and Teachers!

We are coming down to the big day!  We need LOTS of help with our Post Prom Party.  Some of you have already volunteered, but if you haven't yet please reply to Debby Scott at dj_scott@comcast.net and let me know if you are interested in helping.  Please include your name, phone number and the time for which you are volunteering (from what time until what time).  Here is what we need:

Decoration setup is from 2:30 to 10:30 pm on Friday, June 5th.

**Decoration help is especially needed from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm from anyone whose child is not going to the senior prom.  Parents of prom-goers generally leave during that time to help their children get ready, take pictures, and see them off to the prom.

Food setup is about 9:00 - 11:00 pm

Chaperones are needed from 12:00 to 5:00 am

Cleanup begins at around 9:00 am (I estimate this should only take a few hours)

There is no minimum or maximum time for which you have to sign up, but it will help us to be organized if you can tell us when you intend to be there to help.

If you intend to participate, please email Debby Scott at dj_scott@comcast.net and provide the following information:

      your name
      your phone number
the time for which you are volunteering (from what time until what time)

Thank you very much for helping to make this the best Post Prom party ever!

For those of you who haven’t yet worked on Post-Prom, the party offers a safe alternative to traditional post-prom activities (such as late night drives to the Jersey shore), providing students with a safe environment in which to continue the prom night festivities.  The party is FREE to the students and includes approximately six hours of amazing, non-stop activities as well as food, food, and more food.  All PWHS seniors are welcome to attend, with or without dates, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER OR NOT THEY ATTEND THE PROM.

Our next PW Post Prom Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 14th, in the PWHS library.  The general meeting will be held from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.  We would like to invite interested volunteers who would like to assist with the PW Post Prom Party to attend a meeting from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm.  We will be discussing security issues for the party with our head of security at PW, go over the layout of the party/plans for the evening,  and answer any questions.  Please join us with Mr. Carracappa, one of our Assistant Principals, and find out what you can do for the night of the post prom party!

We look forward to seeing you there, we really need as many volunteers as possible.  Also, please look for an email coming out soon asking for volunteer help that evening!

We need as many helpers as possible!  An event like this is only successful because of a lot of work by many volunteers.  If you're interested in helping in any capacity, please send an email to me at dj_scott@comcast.net , pwpostprom@colonialsd.org or come to a committee meeting.  Everyone is welcome, including parents of Colonial students in ANY grade.  We will continue to meet on a monthly basis throughout the school year up to the time of the party.
