Mrs. Klein's Class welcoming 2012!

On Thursday, November 18th, Mrs. Weidamoyer’s and Mrs. Handis’ Kindergarten Classes performed a show called The First Thanksgiving.  Mrs. Handis’ Kindergarten students were pilgrims and Mrs. Weidamoyer’s students were Native Americans.  Each student had a speaking part and enjoyed using the microphone to project their voice.  The students also enjoyed singing songs and even learned sign language as part of their performance.  Afterwards, students and families were invited to the classroom for a Thanksgiving Feast.  The students should be very proud of their performance, learning their lines and three songs was no easy task!  A fun time was had by all!

The Plymouth Elementary Spirit Team has spread kindness throughout the community this Thanksgiving.  They collected cans of cream of mushroom soup for families in need in our community!  The Colonial Neighborhood Council prepared Thanksgiving bags and the final item needed to complete those bags was cream of mushroom soup.  Students on the Spirit Team created a flyer to encourage other kids to donate soup cans.  The students at Plymouth Elementary responded with a great amount of soup cans that far exceeded the amount needed!  The soup cans were collected by The Colonial Neighborhood Council and will be distributed to those in need this Thanksgiving.  The Spirit Team was very happy and proud to spread kindness to others in our community!

Plymouth Elementary Spirit Team has collected lots of Halloween candy donations for the troops!  Students on the Spirit Team created a flyer to encourage other kids to donate their leftover candy to the troops.  Children responded with bags overflowing with candy!  During Fun Friday, classroom teachers gave children the opportunity to make cards for our service men and women, which will be sent with the candy.  The candy and cards will be sent to Operation Gratitude which provides care packages for our troops.  The Spirit Team was really excited about being able to help collect the leftover candy and cards to send a sweet treat to our troops!
