AVID is a national fourth- through twelfth-grade system to prepare students in the academic middle for four-year college eligibility. It has a proven track record in bringing out the best in students, and in closing the achievement gap. AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. The Colonial School District is the only school district in all of Pennsylvania that has an AVID program. This year there are three AVID classrooms in the district. Colonial Middle School is PROUD to have its first group of AVID eighth graders. There is also one class of ninth graders and one class of tenth graders at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.
