The Montgomery County Concert Band is a community concert band that has presented over 225 concerts throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania under the direction of Mr. Stephen Frederick and Chuck Neidhardt. The concert will be held in the CMS auditorium on Tuesday, March 20th at 7:30PM. It is free and open to the public. |

The Colonial School District will host a community forum on Thursday, December 15 to discuss education issues, including pending legislation on school vouchers and the expansion of charter schools. Panelists include School Board Legislative Liaison Beth Suchsland, State Representatives Mike Gerber and Kate Harper, and State Senator Daylin Leach. State Senator Vince Hughes has also been invited to participate. The forum will begin at 7:00 p.m. in Colonial Elementary School, 230 Flourtown Road in Plymouth Meeting.
In October, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett announced his plan for education reform that includes expansion of charter schools, school vouchers and changes to the ways teachers are evaluated. A school voucher bill has since passed the Pennsylvania Senate despite heavy public opinion opposing vouchers.
The public is encouraged to attend this important opportunity to meet with local legislators. |
