Colonial Players win
three Cappies
The Plymouth
Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) Colonial Players' 2012
production of "How To Succeed in Business Without Really
Trying" won three Greater Philadelphia Area Cappies
Awards during the organization's annual awards ceremony
on May 6.
Senior Sam Silbiger won the Cappie for Best Supporting
Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of J.B. Biggley.
The team of sophomore Ahmad Attia, senior Carly Brooke,
senior Adrian Franken and freshman Sanjana Venkat, won
the Cappie for Best Sound for the second year in a row.
And PWHS won the Cappie for Best Song for their
production of "Brotherhood of Man",featuring seniors
Ronnie Keller, Nick Arnone, Kelsey Plona and an ensemble
of men.
The three awards were the most for a PWHS production,
which received a school-record 16
nominations.
A special presentation was made during the event to PWHS
teacher and musical theater director Mickey Engel. He
was recognized for his dedication and support to the
Cappies for his seven years of service on the Greater
Philadelphia Area Steering Committee and his 10 years
directing musical theater at PWHS.
The Cappies "Critics and Awards Program," trains high
school theater and journalism students from 34 area
schools as critics, has them attend shows at other
schools, and write reviews of those shows. At the
end of the season, the critics vote to determine
nominees and award winners in over 30 categories from
makeup and sound, to acting and dance.

50th anniversary during the next school year. If you

Scholarship Fund event
The Plymouth Whitemarsh Scholarship (PWHS) Fund will
hold a fundraiser on May 29, at the Five Guys Burgers
and Fries in the Plymouth Square Shopping Center. Ten
percent of all proceeds received between 4 p.m. and 8
p.m. benefit the Scholarship Fund. Money raised will go
toward the more than 25 scholarships the Fund gives each
year to PWHS seniors. Please make an effort to stop by
between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. No coupon is
necessary.
Foundation
fund sponsors wine tasting event
The Colonial Foundation is hosting a fund raiser at
Totaro's Restaurant, 729 E. Hector Street in
Conshohocken, on Sunday, June 3. Hors D'oeuvres will be
served from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Dinner and wine
pairing from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost of the event is $75
with all proceeds benefitting the Colonial Foundation.

Raffle
to benefit post-prom
50-50 raffle tickets are available to benefit the
Plymouth Whitemarsh High School (PWHS) post prom.
Tickets are $1 each, five for $6 or 15 for $10. Tickets
may be purchased in PWHS from receptionist Beth Kupfer,
in Colonial Middle School from Lois Horn, in Plymouth
and Ride Park elementary schools from Kathy Dale and in
Conshohocken Elementary School from Cathy Greenly. The
drawing will be held the night of the post prom, Friday,
June 8.

up now for Girls in Technology Summer
Academy
Registration is now open for the Third Annual Girls in
Technology Summer Academy, which will run June 18-29 in
Plymouth Whitemarsh High School. The academy introduces
female students entering grades five through eight to
various engineering and technology concepts in a relaxed
and fun environment. Students create projects in graphic
design and digital photography, Web design, animation
and gaming, robotics and more. Cost is $250 per

Prom raffle
The PWHS PTSO is having a raffle for a Senior
Prom Basket. The Basket includes Senior Prom
tickets along with gift certificates for tuxedo rental,
limo, salon services, flowers, and accessories.
Tickets are 1 for $10 or 3 for $25 and can be purchased

Plymouth
Elementary PTO Flea Market
The Plymouth Elementary School PTO is sponsoring a Flea
Market on Saturday, June 2 from 8:00 a.m. to noon on the
school grounds. Table spaces for vendors cost $15 each.
The PTO is also looking for volunteers to help set up,
take down and run the event. For more information or to
