Elizabeth McKeaney, Ed.D. Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Dr. Elizabeth McKeaney joined the Colonial School District (CSD) administrative team as the Director of Curriculum in August, 2005. With a strong background in strategic planning and instructional improvement, Dr. McKeaney provides District-wide leadership and support to schools in the areas of supervision and evaluation of curriculum, assessment and program development, including professional development and the implementation of English as a Second Language and Title I Federally Funded programs. Dr. McKeaney has presented at numerous conferences including the Pennsylvania Staff Development Council, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Pennsylvania Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Conference, and Pennsylvania Title I, Improving School Performance Conference. In 2000, while a teacher in CSD, she was awarded the Milken National Educator Award by Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Milken Foundation. As a teacher, Dr. McKeaney worked at the elementary and middle school level in both urban and suburban school environments. Her experiences include gifted support teacher, English as a Second Language co-teacher in an inclusive multi-age setting, staff developer and instructional coach. Dr. McKeaney received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree in Education Administration and K-12 principal and Curriculum and Instruction certificates from Temple University. She earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. |

Sergio Anaya, M.S. Social Studies/ESL Curriculum Supervisor
Sergio Anaya began his career in the Colonial School District (CSD) as a high school social studies teacher in 1999. He joined the administrative team as a Curriculum Technology Specialist in 2004 and transitioned to his current Curriculum Supervisor position in August, 2005. With a strong background in History, Anthropology and Instructional Technology, Mr. Anaya provides support to curriculum development in Social Studies, World Language, Business Information and Technology, Technology Education, Health and Physical Education, and coordinates the District’s English as a Second Language program. Mr. Anaya has presented at numerous conferences including the National Council for History Education and Pennsylvania Department of Education’s English As a Second Language conference Multiple Cultures, Multiple Voices: Preparing Diverse Learners in the Era of Globalization. He was an administrative leader for the Classrooms For the Future Grant and will be representing CSD by participating in the 2010 Keystone Exam Social Studies Committee. Mr. Anaya’s teaching career began in Southeastern New Mexico before he moved to Pennsylvania. In New Mexico Sergio received his Bachelor of Science in Anthropology and History from Eastern New Mexico University. Mr. Anaya earned a Master’s in Applied Technology and his Instructional Technology Specialist Certification from Chestnut Hill College. He attained his Principal Certification from Penn State University. |

Donna Gaffney, M.Ed. Math Curriculum Supervisor
Donna Gaffney joined the Colonial School District (CSD) administrative team as Mathematics Curriculum Supervisor in October, 2008. With a diverse background in curriculum, instruction and professional development, Mrs. Gaffney has collaboratively worked to review and advance the district’s Mathematics curriculum and to provide professional development opportunities district-wide. Her responsibilities also include supporting curriculum development in the areas of Art and Music, and supervision of the New Teacher Induction Program. Mrs. Gaffney came to CSD from the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU). As a staff developer, Mrs. Gaffney assisted districts across the county with school improvement planning and services. She designed and facilitated professional development for teachers, specializing in Differentiated Instruction, Reading Apprenticeship, and Math Coaching. Her work and involvement in education at the local and state level is foundational to her knowledge and understanding of best-practices in teaching and learning today. Mrs. Gaffney began her career as a Mathematics teacher in 1994. She has instructed students at both the middle and high school level. Her experiences include working with students in multi-disciplinary, co-taught, and vocational environments. Mrs. Gaffney received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Immaculata College and her Master’s in Elementary Education from Widener University. Her Supervisory Certification in Curriculum and Instruction was attained from Lehigh University. She is currently enrolled in Widener University’s Doctoral Program in School Systems Leadership. |

Kathleen M. Hamill, M.Ed. Language Arts Curriculum Supervisor
Kathleen Hamill joined the Colonial School District (CSD) as Language Arts Curriculum Supervisor in 2007. She has been instrumental in facilitating the revision of the K-12 language arts curriculum to meet the needs of the 21st century student. Notably, she has focused her efforts on increasing collaboration opportunities among staff to extend teacher knowledge in best literacy practices and implementation of standardized discourse structures for students to expand their critical thinking. Mrs. Hamill came to CSD from the Philadelphia School District. After working as a middle school and high school Reading Specialist in Philadelphia, she assumed the position of Literacy Coordinator for a K-4 elementary school. Mrs. Hamill became an Assistant Principal and subsequently Principal of a University of Pennsylvania affiliated K-8 school in Philadelphia. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Chestnut Hill College and her master’s degree in Education, Reading Specialist certification, and Administrative certification from West Chester University. |

Maria Wileczek, M.Ed. Science Curriculum Supervisor
Maria Wileczek joined the Colonial School District (CSD) as Science Curriculum Supervisor in 2009. Under her leadership, the CSD Science Department has begun important work in identifying student needs and building in opportunities for students to develop into 21st century learners. A main focus of the science curriculum review is to refine the program to ensure students as scientifically literate and capable of using scientific knowledge and inquiry skills with today’s technological innovations. Mrs. Wileczek also was an administrative leader for the Classrooms For the Future Grant. Mrs. Wileczeko came to CSD from the Upper Darby School District where she served 11 years as a biology teacher and then Assistant Principal. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and Biology from the University of Scranton in 1998. She completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership as well as administrative and supervisory certifications in 2005 from Saint Joseph’s University. |
